It was as early as 5.30am, Indonesian time when I had to wake up and get ready for a casual photo shoot. I was asked by a friend of mine to be his talent for a Korean themed photo shoot a day before. I was kind of excited because I often saw his photo works from my friend's instagram. She is actually one of his talent, too. Ok before I talk craps... Let me just show you some of the pictures.
So ever since I bought a new camera, I almost bring this baby to everywhere I go. I have always wanted to learn how to take beautiful pictures but I just don't have the inside skills. Well.. just need to get the hang of it for a while.
In fact, my little brother is way more interested and curious to take pictures than me now. I often asked him to take a picture of me using my iPhone camera but he always sighed and ignored me instead! However, he always got his hands on my new camera since I bought it. He even told me he wants to be professional photographer LOL! If this happens to you girls, you know what to do HAHAHA *evil laugh*
Bro: I want to be a professional photographer! I think I take a few decent pictures!
Me: Hmm.. You can start with me as your model
Bro: Alright then! How are you gonna take pictures?
Me: The peace Asian sign of course!
Bro: Oh that's lame! Pose like those super models! Pretend you are as tall as them!
Me: Ok lemme just tiptoe.
Bro: Change background!
Me: Oh I think I look good in that pose! Lemme do that again!
Me: Oh no! What's wrong with my cheeks!! It's too chubby! Retake pleasee!!
Me: Oh maayyn! It cant be possible! My cheeks are too chubby!
Bro: Arrghh! I'm tired just edit 'em big cheeks. This is the last one.
Hey y' all! Sorry if I have been MIA for the last few weeks. I was at Malaysia last month and didn't have a stable internet connection. I just returned to Indonesia last Monday.
I actually visited my boyfriend by surprise last month LOL! I cant believe I made it and it worked! *proud moment* I never told him if I was going to fly there. It was an unplanned and sudden trip. I flew there on Monday and only bought the ticket on Friday night. I was planning to stay there for 2 weeks only. It turned out I extended my stay for another 2 weeks, meaning that I stayed there for a month.
During my stay there, I splurged on a few stuff that made me such a happy kid! Let me reveal [read:show off] on the stuffs I bought
1. Sony Alpha a5100
I got my hand on the Black color one. I believe this product has just launched last September 2014 at Malaysia. I bought it at Harvey Norman Sunway Pyramid for RM2,269 together with its kit lens, compact bag, tripod, 16GB memory card, and casing.
I have asked around many shops from Sony Sunway Pyramid, Harvey Norman Nu Sentral, FotoKem Sunway Pyramid and FotoKem Nu Sentral. Harvey Norman Sunway Pyramid gave me the best deal!! The sales guy, I cant rmb his name but he was the Head Department if im not mistaken was very professional! He explained to me very detail and answered all my questions very well.
I am just gonna shout my disappointment here on Sony Sunway Pyramid. This is the official shop from Sony. I supposed you could give a better service from others since you are the representative from Sony. I have my old Sony Cyber Shot TX7 compact camera. I was thinking to get rid of my old camera since I planned to buy a new one. I was very blind in selling second hand items. It's impossible if I am just going to trash this into the dustbin since it still works very well.
I went to Sony shop at Sunway Pyramid, just wanna ask if I wanted to sell my old Sony camera, how much will it worth and where should I go. I approached the sales girl there and she asked me if I wanted to trade in. I explained that I did not plan to trade in since I understood my camera was an old design but if you could offer me a trade in, how it worked. The the sales girl ask another guy, I am not sure if he's the manager. The guy did not respond to me at all but kept saying 'NO!', 'NO!', 'NO!' with the look as if I was a beggar!!!! You could at least say my camera is very old and you could not take it or whatsoever in a more polite way!!!
Anyway, now I understand that once you buy gadgets items like camera, phone, laptop, etc the second hand price will definitely drop and will have no market price until 3-4 years max. I asked around and they explained to me like this in a polite manner instead of saying NO!!
OK, enough for the complaint. I have been loving this camera so far. I really enjoy the built-in wifi in the camera so I can easily transfer my pictures to my iphone. I love the 360 flipped in camera as well because who doesn't love selfie :) The camera does give a better effect on my skin. It makes my skin looks brighter and smoother. There are still many functions that I still have not discovered and learned yet until now though. I also love love love how smooth and HD the video is. I can say this because I used my old camera to record a video before and the video quality is definitely something I can compare. It is easier for me to cut and edit video. Not to mention the special Movie Button at Alpha a5100 makes it very convenient for recording purpose. It has a built-in flash as well which is not very useful but still works amazing in a complete total blackout.
Now the downside or maybe good side for some of you of this camera. The camera is quite compact so if you have huge hand, you might have a hard time holding the camera. Well, as for me who has a small little hand, it is actually very convenient and comfy for me :D
I am not an expert in doing this comparison and camera reviews. I watched this video by Jim's Review Room before I got my hand on this camera. He helped me a lot. So if you guys are planning to get one of them, you could click on the video below.
2.M Shop Pavilion - Dress
As some of you know, I am going to have my convocation very soon. If you guys in Indonesia are supposed to wear 'Kebaya' [read: traditional outfit of Indonesia] which is very pretty and I envy you all in the deep of my heart for being able to wear that!! :( It's not that I am not allowed to wear that but I guess I will be the only one who is overdressed and had to walk timidly on the stage. I had been searching for my convo dress for the longest time. I actually planned to tailor made my dress but something went wrong. My tailor just suddenly disappear without any notification so yeah... I walked all over Sunway Pyramid and Pavilion, stepped in and stepped out Top Shop, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and Zara for zillion times. Nothing looked right on me. Moreover, the new collections are now more on the Fall/ Winter Season, so they only have a limited collection of dresses.
Until I found this big M Shop at Pavilion. I never saw this shop before so I decided to take a look inside. It turned out that the shop has just opened a week before, so no wonder I have never seen before. M stands for Melium Group. They have a lot of collections from high end designer brands. Anyway, I tried some of their collections and they all look very nice, despite my petite body had made it hard to find dress that fit me perfectly. I finally chose the dress from AQAQ, it was love at the first sight. I do not want to spoil my convocation dress so just stay tune until end of this month :)
This is how it looks inside the fitting room of M Pavilion, how to not fall in love!
They also have a comfy couch there for your boyfriend or whoever follow you to rest there.
